Welcome to Western Rocky Golden Mountain Dogs

Our family lives on a small farm in western Colorado. Our farm currently has horses, sheep, alpacas, cats, chickens, and of course dogs. I was born and raised here in Grand Junction. My husband is also from the western slope.
I have been raising and breeding animals for most of my life. Starting with farm animals like rabbits, sheep, pigs, and cows. My husband’s father runs a cattle ranch in Colorado.
I started raising a litter of dogs here and there almost 10 years ago. In 2018 my husband and I obtained our license and started Heart and Home Doodles. Golden Mountain Dogs were initially a very small part of our program. However, over time we realized how much we enjoyed them, how much our adopting families enjoyed them, and decided to focus on them entirely. Heart and Home Doodles was renamed to Western Rocky Golden Mountain Dogs in 2020.
Dogs have been an important part of my life for as long as my parents let me have my first one. My children have grown up with them as a part of their everyday lives. Our dogs are members of our very close family and we strive to ensure they get the best lives possible. Each one of our fur babies are exactly that, our babies with fur.
Western Rocky Golden Mountain Dogs is a family operation. My husband helps with maintaining our facilities and yards, and helps me maintain the waitlist. My 10 year old daughter socializes the puppies and has begun assisting with some of the photography and medications/vaccinations. My 3 year old’s job is to carry puppies from one end of the house to the other, sit with a and pet them, and never stops petting our momma dogs.
Our family takes pride in the quality of our puppies and want to be sure they go to amazing homes that they deserve. Our family loves nothing more than sharing the joy these puppies bring with other people.
